Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located and what area do you cover?
We are based in Plymouth and will Cover all of Devon and Cornwall.
The access to the marquee site is restricted, will this be a problem?
It shouldn’t be as we are able to access most areas without a problem as the marquees we supply are highly portable. If however your site is very tricky to access or more than 25m away from our point of access then an additional charge may be applicable.
How much space will I need?
It depends on the number of guests, the need for a dance floor, bar or band. As a rough guide please see our planning page or call us to discuss.
What surface is suitable for your marquees?
They are only suitable for a flat grass surface. If you are in doubt then please contact us to discuss this further.
When can I expect delivery?
For Saturday events, delivery is usually on a Friday AM and removal on a Monday AM (You will only be charged for a single days hire). However arrangements can be made for an earlier delivery and pick up as required for a small fee. For the more remote parts of Devon or Cornwall we may be slightly delayed in arrival.
Do you give discounts?
We offer discounts to charities and schools in Devon and Cornwall. If you would like to discuss this with us then please contact us.
Are your marquees lined?
Due to their modern design, our marquees do not need to be lined. Feel free to have a look at the images in the gallery for a better idea of the style of our marquees.
What if the weather is very poor?
Unfortunately, the weather is out of our control. The marquees are waterproof as are the sidewalls. In heavy rain, matting may get wet but does dry quickly on well drained grass surfaces.
Very high winds can be an issue (particularly on exposed coasts of Devon and Cornwall) and while we keep an eye on the forecast and take all necessary measures to ensure our marquees are safe, we cannot guarantee this in very high winds.
Do I need matting?
It depends on the event. For weddings we suggest you take it as it looks much better – also high heels on grass can be awkward. For catering tents we suggest you do not have matting. If you are having a dance floor you must have matting.
Should I cut the grass?
We would suggest you do, but only if you can collect the grass. Avoid cutting the grass close to the day of the event particularly if you are not taking matting as it likes to stick to the surface of the marquee.
Do you provide side walls?
Yes a complete set of sidewalls (half white and half clear) is provided with every marquee.
Can I decorate the marquees?
Yes. The poles and archways provide ideal points for attaching decorations. However we ask that you refrain from fixing anything to the marquee or sidewall material.
How are they linked?
Using specially designed linking kits. They are waterproof and will give some extra space to the marquees interior.
Do you hire linen, cutlery, generators or toilets?
No, sorry we do not. However our Links page contains a list of useful contacts.
